Classic but contemporary. Tangy but smooth. This single farmer, single variety microlot from the esteemed coffee growing region of Huila, Colombia is in one word: delightful. It’s what we would call an elevated easy sipper with refined fruit and floral notes but it  also boasts a super fun tangy acidity and sryupy body. We love the pronounced pear note in this coffee and also taste raspberry, toffee, honeysuckle, raisin, passion fruit and, if we are going to get really specific, Jammie Dodger cookies. It’s bright, tangy, sweet, and definitely a must try!

This coffee was grown by Faiber Bolanos on his 1.5 hectare farm La Esperanza in southwestern Colombia.  Faiber has been farming since 1998 and is a member of the small but mighty coffee growing cooperative Asocoación Los Naranjos. This particular lot was picked at optimum ripeness before undergoing a 24-72 hour fermentation where it was then washed and dried in solar dryers for 15-30 days until reaching optimum moisture content. Caturra is a naturally occurring dwarf mutation of the coveted Bourbon variety and is known for producing a sweet, fruit-forward and balanced cup of coffee. This cup certainly demonstrates that and allows this variety to shine.
